Low sperm Count

Low sperm count, also known as oligozoospermia, is a condition where a man's semen contains a lower than normal number of sperm. A normal sperm count is typically above 40 million sperm per ejaculate, while a low sperm count is typically below 15 million.

Causes of low sperm count:

• Hormonal imbalance
• Undescended testicles
• Infections (e.g., prostatitis, epididymitis)
• Blockages or obstruction in the reproductive tract
• Varicocele (swollen veins in the scrotum)
• Retrograde ejaculation
• Certain medications
• Lifestyle factors (e.g., smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, stress)
• Environmental toxins
• Genetic factors
